Demanding Citizenship for Essential Workers!

CGA Group photo before March 9.21.21.jpeg

On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, 28 CGA members traveled to Washington D.C to join thousands of immigrants and essential workers demanding Congress invest in the care economy, provide citizenship for essential workers, and take bold action on climate change!

We are calling on Congress and the Administration to deliver on its promises and address the issues that disproportionately affect Black, Indigenous, and communities of color. National Domestic Workers Alliance Director, Ai-jen Poo, said it clearly and powerfully in remarks during the rally:

“Living during a pandemic that has devastated so many of us -- disproportionately Black and Brown communities and Women -- has proven that business as usual CANNOT continue. Our mandate is clear: We can’t wait another day. WE MUST WIN, FOR OUR LIVES DEPEND ON IT, WE NEED ELECTED OFFICIAL WHO WILL FIGHT FOR ALL OF US. We say to Congress, GET IT DONE!”

Check out a few photos below and hear members share about why they are marching.

"We are here in the fight for our rights in this crucial moment, for our dignity. We are in a free country, we contribute to this country, we contribute to its growth and development. It's time for us to be heard! We are here for this fight for our freedom, lets go!"
