Join us in honoring the victims of immigration policies that separate, detain, and destroy families. We’ll have flowers for everyone and petitions to be delivered to Whole Foods management. This is a colorful action with puppets and music, children are encouraged to come and lead! RSVP on Facebook or with Ben at bfgoogins@cganyc.org
NDWA Bill of Rights
We are excited to support the National Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, a comprehensive vision to ensure that every nanny, house cleaner, and home care worker in the United States can earn a decent living, have a voice at work, support their health and their families, and work in safety and with dignity. Sign the Petition and email Ben at bfgoogins@cganyc.org to join the Digital Action Team!
Celebrating Nanny Appreciation Week!
Over 40 members of the Carroll Gardens Nanny Association came together to celebrate the work that makes all other work possible. Interested in joining CGNA? Email cgnannies@gmail.com or come visit 201 Columbia Street!
Imagining a New Economy
Over 40 domestic workers, tenants, coop members, and allies, gathered for a two part People’s Guide to the New Economy workshop. In part one we explored how our economy is structured and how capitalism shapes us collectively and individually. We then looked towards the future, imagining an economy rooted in democracy, equity, and racial and environmental justice, connecting to current campaigns like Public Bank NYC. Gratitude to our partners at the New Economy Project!
Another Successful Fall Festival!
We celebrated another successful Southwest Brooklyn Fall Festival, the one time of year where neighbors, musicians, artists, and small businesses, come together in the neighborhood. Check out more photos of the event here.
