Historic Win for Housing Justice!

This session Governor Cuomo signed a landmark rent reform package that will drastically change housing in New York State. The legislation will close loopholes landlords have used to deregulate tens of thousands of apartments, limit rent increases for building and apartment renovations, and potentially expand rent stabilization to localities across New York State.

Over the course of this campaign we organized alongside groups from all over New York to knock on doors, canvass in our neighborhoods, host tenant town halls, participate in direct actions, and make countless trips to Albany. While there is still work to do to ensure that ALL tenants in New York have rent protections, this campaign is a reminder of the power or organizing and that we have a statewide housing movement ready to continue fighting.

My career journey consisted of a variety of roles and industries, from rolling out blockbuster movie campaigns at the Walt Disney to producing large-scale youth festivals for the Malaysian government. Having worn many hats for over eight years allows me to have a unique approach to marketing while building lasting partnerships, creatively problem solve, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
