Care Forward is a Brooklyn-based standards-raising initiative for care workers and employers. There are 200,000 care workers living and working in our City, most of whom are women. 1 in 8 are women of color; for immigrant women in Brooklyn, it’s 1 in 5. Care work in our City is overwhelmingly done by women, women of color, or immigrants making Care Forward all the more critical. Since its launch in September 2021, 75% of nannies who participated in Care Forward received access to more benefits, overtime, and other resources.
