Census 2020
We are one of 150 organizations across NYC awarded funding to help get out the count for the 2020 Census, specifically in communities that historically are under counted. From now through the extended deadline in October we will be working hard to ensure that all our community, specifically domestic workers and low income tenants, are counted!

The Census is Critical for Investment
The data collected by the 2020 Census will determine if the Brooklyn will get its fair share of billions in federal funding for:
Schools
Public housing
Roads & highways
Head Start
Healthcare access
Job training
Emergency services
SNAP
Hospitals & firehouses
& much more!
The Census Determines Electoral Representation
The results of this once-a-decade count determine the number of seats each state has in the House of Representatives. The data is used to redraw electoral districts, based on where population has increased or decreased. It also influences decision-making around local zoning and businesses.
The Census is Confidential
By law, census information cannot be shared with ANYONE – including law enforcement, ICE, DHS, and other government agencies – and cannot be used to harm you in any way. There is no citizenship question on the 2020 Census. Everyone should participate regardless of immigration status.
Starting March 12th, you can complete the census:
online
by phone
by mail-in paper form
at your local public library.
