Facilitated by New Economy Project and the NYC Community Land Initiative, this training will review strategies that communities have developed to both fight back against racial injustice and speculation in our current housing system, and fight forward to expand community-controlled, permanently affordable housing. We’ll review the basics of proven social housing models, including nonprofit and publicly-owned rental housing, shared equity housing, and community land trusts, and touch on successful examples from around NYS
