Drill Down on Housing Data: Data Tools for Tenant Organizing

Learn how ANHD's DAP Portal and JustFix.nyc’s Who Owns What tools can help you identify high-risk buildings and landlord portfolios for outreach and organizing!

ANHD's DAP Portal data tool, with a particular focus on its features that allow users to build maps and reports of buildings that have high risk thresholds, be it due to high complaint volumes, speculation, evictions, or other indicators. DAP Portal also gives users an immediate view of detailed historical building records, all in one place.

JustFix.nyc’s Who Owns What tool, which unveils networks of property ownership around the city by grouping buildings together that have a shared landlord or property manager. By searching an address, users can see their landlord's portfolio around the city, track their history of violations, evictions, and deregulation of rent stabilized units, and connect with other tools to explore in more detail.

The training will include demos and small group work using prompts to learn the tools. This training is particularly appropriate for tenant organizers and others who do proactive outreach to at-risk tenants.
