Join Hand in Hand: The Domestic Employers Network and Carroll Gardens Association for a #FreeTheFamilies vigil to stand in solidarity with immigrant women abused by ICE on Sunday, September 27th at 3pm.
This is a COVID-19 safe playdate protest and children are welcome to participate. Everyone must wear a mask and be 6 feet apart.
We will gather by the tables in Carroll Park to build a memorial with stuffed animals, toys, signs and anything that connect us parents and children to show our love to immigrant women.
We're joining thousands of voices across the country to #FreeTheFamilies Vigil, a nationwide action organized by Families Belong Together.
Last week, Dawn Wooten, a former nurse at ICE's Irwin County Detention Center in Georgia revealed that ICE surgically removed an “inordinate” number of women’s wombs against their will. The cruelty and inhumane treatment against refugees and immigrants by the government need to stop.
For those who prefer to attend virtually, we will broadcast on Facebook Live.
