Immigrant Kids belong at School Rally

Join us and the New York Immigration Coalition — our Education Collaborative and LIFE Partners — and parents, students, educators, and allies Wednesday, May 11th at 10:30am-12:00 pm in front of Tweed Courthouse to demand that the Department of Education (DOE) give full access to immigrant youth and families.

New York City must address a long-standing injustice that was deeply exacerbated during the pandemic: quality public school programs are inaccessible for thousands of immigrant youth and families. Join us as we demand that the city invests in culturally responsive and linguistically diverse outreach, application and enrollment support for immigrant families of 3- and 4-year olds through the LIFE program and $2.1M for a transfer school pilot program to increase access for newly arrived, high-school-aged immigrants in the outer boroughs where they are most needed. Contact Ben at bfgoogins@cganyc.org if you are interested!

  • Date & Time: Wednesday, May 11th at 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Location: Tweed Courthouse, 52 Chambers St. New York, NY 10007
