If you employ or are thinking of employing a nanny, house cleaner and/or home attendant and are looking to ensure you are complying with the law and meet fair labor standards, this is a webinar for you. The webinar will cover:
Meeting legal requirements & industry standards
Connecting domestic worker & employer perspective
Analyzing different workplace scenarios
Our workshop is a result of domestic workers AND employers' conversations and feedback. Hand in Hand represents a movement led by employers to recognize, respect and protect the rights of domestic workers, because they make all other work possible. As domestic employers and allies, we are actively contributing to raising standards by creating a workplace for healthy, fair and longtime labor relationships.
The journey to respect, value and protections.
In 2010 the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights was signed into law. It was the first legislation to recognize domestic workers rights. Before this domestic workers were excluded from key protections. The fight for inclusion continues.
In 2011 the International Labor Organization (ILO) adopted the Convention Concerning Decent Work for Domestic Workers (Domestic Workers Convention, No. 189). This groundbreaking treaty established the first global standards for domestic workers.
